** Sisters & Brothers in their 30s CAN register as well IF they are SERIOUS about meeting 40+ Singles.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR OUR (13TH) BI-MONTHLY MARRIAGE MATCHMAKING EVENT ON (SAT) SEPTEMBER 29TH! EVENTS ARE HELD AT (ISGH MAIN CENTER) ROIC - RIVER OAKS ISLAMIC CENTER. 

~ ~ Our events started in Sept 2015 and are approved by Sheikh Abdullah Oduro and Imam Isa Parada. ~ ~

NOTE: Greater Houston Single Muslims has no affiliation with ISGH, other than the events being held at ROIC in the Community Center area. It is organized by local Volunteers.

Each event gets about 10-16 Mutual Matches. We have 5 Weddings & 1 engagement so far.  A 3rd baby is about to be born from our events, Alhamdulillah.

(FAQ) EVENT FORMAT/STYLE:
Our events are a "Small Groups Q&A" format/style with 4 Brothers & 4 Sisters per moderated table group. Brothers will rotate every 26 minutes so everyone gets to meet everyone. Our events are NOT "Singles Socials/Mixers/Free Mixing Hangouts/Group Dating/Speed Dating/1 on 1".

EVENTS ARE ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE & FUN:
Though our events are serious and for the purpose of finding a spouse, you will find yourself having conversations and laughing through the event, enjoying your time/having fun in a controlled and respectful environment. Both the Singles and Volunteers say this each time we have an event.

6 FUN PARTS TO EACH GROUP ROTATION: Insha Allah you will get to learn a lot about the other Singles thru Basic introductions + playing a fun & quick "Ice Breaker" question game + 2 more "Ice Breaker" segments + speed round of Yes or No questions + Singles asking each other questions.

OUR EVENTS ARE FOR FLUENT ENGLISH SPEAKERS ONLY.  You must have a US Citizenship, Green Card or have a Valid/Active/In-Status Student or Work Visa.  AND you MUST be currently living in the Greater Houston Area -OR- within a 5 hour driving radius of 77098 to attend our events.

********((((THIS EVENT IS $25 TO ATTEND))))********
FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS THE MARRIAGE MATCHMAKING EVENTS HAVE BEEN FREE. This is because I believe that there should not be a cost involved in meeting other Singles for the comfort of marriage and living a life according to the Sunnah in Islam. It has become increasingly difficult to continue to keep these events FREE. Unfortunately, I can no longer pay for these events out of my pocket completely. Therefore, I am needing help in the form of a $25 Entry Fee that will be used 100% for these events with no overhead. BUT DON'T THINK OF THE $25 AS A FEE, THINK OF IT AS A CONTRIBUTION TO THE HOUSE OF ALLAH. The Entry Fee is needed to pay for Administrative Costs including basic necessities such as covering the Electricity (Lights, AC/Heat) and Water used during the event. Also, included are the Administrative Costs involved in keeping up with and "light screening" registration forms for so many applicants. The program has become so successful that we have so many more applicants and we are now accepting Out-of-Town applicants! With the increase of all these participants and additional Events, the Events have become costly and need funding. It has been a truly rewarding experience to be a part of these Singles Events and the resultant Marriages. But again, I unfortunately cannot fund this effort completely on my own.

SNACK BREAK: Singles won't be bringing Snacks/Drinks to share like they did at previous events. The $25 Entry Fee will also pay for Drinks/Snacks for our Snack Break.

DRESS CODE: You MUST dress professionally & modestly. No T-shirts. No tight clothing. Brothers can wear Jeans with a Nice Shirt.

CHECK-IN & EVENT TIMES:
* Singles will Check-in from 12:45pm-1:30pm (Not Muslim Time/Arab Time/Being Habitually Late)
* Dhuhr Jammah is prayed at 1:45pm
* Event will start at 2:00pm SHARP
* Event will end about 5:30pm
* RSVP required - No walk-ins allowed
* Deadline to Register is (Wed) September 26th at 6pm CST.

REGISTRATION AGE RANGES WE HAVE SO FAR FOR SEPTEMBER 29TH EVENT. I will update this as I get New registrations.

* Some people think Converts don't come to these events. That's not true. We do get them. Converts registered so far: #5

** Some people think only Arabs and Indo-Paks/Desis attend our events. That's not true. We get all kinds of Singles. So far, we have 7 different Ethnicities registered for this event. We usually average 22-24 different Ethnicities at each event for our 20s & 30s Events.

It's Not Easy....For Everyone to Find a Spouse.

DISCLAIMER: I am not an expert on Marriage or finding a Spouse. :)   Since I started doing these Marriage Matchmaking Events in Sept 2015, I have had many Singles call/text me and even approach me in person about their struggles of finding a spouse.  Some even cry to me.  And they still do this.  They want someone to listen and want to ask for advice.  Often, they think something is wrong with them or that they are doing something wrong because their friends are married with kids or the friends are getting married..............yet they themselves are still Single.  I hear all kinds of stories.  Some Singles find a Spouse quickly.  For others, it takes some time.  Some Singles get married in their 20s.  Some don't get married until they are in their 30s, 40's, etc.  That's is Allah's plan for your life and there's no way around it.  Some Sisters are worried about their "biological clock ticking", that time is "running out".  Some Singles

FAQ: Why Don't You Have Profiles We Can Look At?

FAQ: WHY DON'T YOU HAVE PROFILES WE CAN LOOK AT? Below is actually an updated post to my original FAQ post I made on June 10, 2016 ----> FAQ: Do You Have Profiles I Can Look At? -  http://bit.ly/DoYouHaveProfilesICanLookAtGHSM I do understand the desire for this as well. Our events are different. Our Slogan is "Get to Know a Person, not a Profile". Profiles are just that, Profiles. Someone can look good on paper but might not be so good in person. In person, you can see  if there is Chemistry & Attraction. You get to see their body language, their facial expressions and hear their tone of voice. You don't get this with Profiles. Plus Profiles make it easy for you to pre-judge people before you have met them and given them a solid chance. I know TOO MANY people that would have totally brushed their spouses off if they only went by a profile. This is why I don't use profiles.
